The refurbishment of Park Mead School in Cranleigh, delivered on behalf of Surrey County Council, is progressing at pace.

The team has successfully completed the first phase of works - a comprehensive programme of improvements to the nursery and breakfast & afterschool club areas. These spaces have been enhanced with new ceiling structures, upgraded lighting, and full redecoration, creating a brighter, more welcoming environment for pupils and staff.

Externally, the fascias have been fully upgraded to improve both durability and appearance. Roof strengthening, gutter replacements, and additional drainage works have also been completed across multiple buildings, supporting long-term structural integrity and safety.

The next phase of the project will focus on the main primary school building, where further refurbishment works are planned, including new ceiling installations throughout. A disused chimney will also be carefully dismantled and removed to enhance the overall appearance of the school.

Clive Ferrey, Member of the school’s Governing Board, recently visited to review progress and commented: “The school head proudly showed me around the buildings where you [MCS] have done so much good work, and I have to say it does look wonderful – a complete transformation. So, on behalf of all on the school’s governing board, thank you”.
