We are pleased to share that MCS has been awarded a new contract to deliver the renovation of Runnymede Depot in Chertsey, on behalf of Runnymede Borough Council.
The works will involve the demolition of an existing office and storage building within the active depot, with this area being developed into a new car park. As the existing building currently supplies power to the rest of the site, this supply must remain live throughout construction, therefore MCS will install a new enclosure around the retained electrical infrastructure.
To offset the temporary loss of office space, the disused St John’s Ambulance building opposite the depot will be repaired and refurbished to create additional workspace. We will also install three new temporary portacabin-style offices whilst works are in progress to ensure that Runnymede Borough Council is able to continue working efficiently and with minimal disruption.
Further improvement works across the depot will include repairs to retaining walls, enhancements to external lighting, and potential resurfacing in key areas.
Runnymede Depot plays a vital role as the operational hub for the Council’s waste collection services, minibuses, highways and landscaping teams, and recycling operations. We are delighted to support the continued delivery of these essential services whilst undertaking this important programme of works.
