We are delighted to have completed the marvellous new two storey building at Bishop Wand School, Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey.
Having a strong reputation for, and experience of, ‘rescuing’ projects, MCS was appointed to construct new facilities following a principal contractor departing from a project at 30% complete in Summer 2023.
Working in collaboration with Surrey County Council and Hamson Barron Smith, MCS was appointed to dismantle, make safe and complete the construction of a new Humanities Building containing classrooms and a dining hall at Bishop Wand School.
The new building today provides: six new classrooms, a bright and spacious modern dining hall, kitchen, servery, washrooms, lift and new landscaping.
Upon completion, Terry King, Project Manager of Hamson Barron Smith, said: “It has been a pleasure working with MCS throughout the Bishop Wand Project.
“Not being the usual start to a project, MCS quickly adapted to the challenge ahead, taking on a project that had already commenced and required stripping back to steel frame and foundations.
“MCS hit the ground running, working cooperatively with the project team, in both design and commercial aspects.
“The site manager, Balazs, was superb to work with. His friendly manor, approach, and ability to address problems, together with his adaptability, and attention to detail was an asset the project and to the MCS team.
“Our overall experience of working with MCS has been positive, enjoyable and a pleasure. They have been a big part in turning this project around and delivering a great building for the client and more importantly the school.
“We look forward to working with the MCS team again in the future.”
Justin Whiteman, Managing Director, MCS, said: “Congratulations to our Site Manager, Balazs Ferenczi; Construction Manager, John Rourke; Operations Director, Peter Greenaway and all our subcontractors and suppliers for doing such a great job completing this essential new building to our typical high-quality standard and on programme. Thank you.”
