On Monday 5th December the new teaching block at Woking College was officially handed over.
The Mayor of Woking Clr Saj Hussain accompanied by Woking College Principal, Brett Freeman and Student Union President Sam Tough cut the ribbon to declare the building open.
Of the opening MCS’s Managing Director, Justin Whiteman, said: “We were absolutely delighted to have been awarded this marvellous contract by Woking College and would like to thank Woking College for being a truly wonderful client who is collaborative and interested in the construction process.
“For the last 12 months MCS has been building these fantastic new facilities. We are passionate about building the best for our future generations and creating these excellent learning environments in which students thrive.
“I would like to thank architect Mark Penfold of Macallan Penfold for designing this marvellous building, Synergy Construction & Property Consultants LLP, Price & Myers and of course our wonderful construction team including Ryan Price, Danica Chambers and Paul Gurney and all our suppliers and subcontractors.
“MCS was formed in 1982 and firmly believes that a great college provides an education that creates an appetite for life and develops the talent to live it productively.
“So, with thanks to Woking College – an Ofsted Outstanding College – this will absolutely happen here. Thank you.”
Today new building of 925m² provides 8-classrooms, a supervised study area, along with staff work areas, offices and ancillary spaces. These new facilities will allow the flexibility that the College requires to meet student needs in and outside of lessons.
