On Tuesday, members of the MCS team headed over to Woking College for their annual Careers Day, an event held to help college students understand the range of opportunities available after college, including university, apprenticeships, and a variety of different careers.

Leo Willis, Lucy Edwards, and Alex Crane had the pleasure of speaking with students about the different career opportunities within construction, debunking myths about the industry, and offering insightful advice on the best routes into construction.

According to the latest Construction Workforce Outlook 2026–2030 from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), the industry will need to annually recruit approximately 41,200 additional workers to meet projected demand. Read the full report here – https://www.citb.co.uk/cwo/index.html

At MCS, we are committed to promoting the vast array of careers available within the industry. By inspiring future generations, we can help reduce the labour shortage that construction is facing, as well as bringing fresh new talent to the table to help bring new ideas and innovations.

If you know a student interested in exploring a career in construction, we welcome applications for work experience. To apply, please email marketing@mcs-construction.com with the areas of construction you are interested in, as well as your availability.
