Progress is developing swiftly at Epsom Fire Station, on behalf of Surrey County Council.
On the ground floor, the team have finished the refurbishment of the toilets, providing modernised and refreshed facilities with a pop of colour. Additionally, the kit room has now been handed over to the firefighters, complete with individual open storage cubicles, new ceiling structure and fire exit signs, as well as a full redecoration of the space.
Further improvements have been made downstairs, with the breathing apparatus storeroom benefitting from new flooring and redecoration. Upstairs, the kitchen refurbishment is almost complete, with only the new worktops and sink to be installed before it can be handed back to the station.
Externally, scaffolding has been erected around the station’s drill tower to facilitate essential structural repairs due to general deterioration. These works will involve brick pointing and roof replacements to ensure the tower remains structurally sound for the foreseeable future.
