MCS Score Second Place at Dragon Boat Races 2026

On Sunday, the MCS team took to the water to compete in Woking & Sam Beare’s Dragon Boat Races 2026.

Facing strong competition throughout the day, our crew rose to the challenge, recording the fastest time in the heats and ultimately securing an impressive second place finish overall.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed their time, energy, and support to make the event such a success. Special recognition goes to John Rourke, our Special Works Construction Manager, whose leadership, organisation, and expertly planned paddling order helped drive the team to second place.

We're also delighted to share that, thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors and supporters, we've raised more than £2,000. Every penny will help the hospice continue its invaluable work, providing care and support to patients, carers, and families in our community.
