Lytle Associates Receives Design Award Plaque for Guildford Lido

Huge congratulations to Lytle Associates on delivering an outstanding design at Guildford Lido - now proudly marked with a commemorative plaque installed this month following success at the Guildford Design Awards.

Working in partnership with Lytle Associates and Press & Starkey, MCS delivered the refurbishment of the Lido’s changing facilities for Guildford Borough Council - an exceptional project recognised with the Small Public Building award. The design stands out for its quality, creativity, and strong community value.

From the careful demolition of outdated facilities and major drainage upgrades to the construction of a contemporary pavilion, the scheme has been thoughtfully realised throughout. The finished building features striking timber canopies, a beautifully crafted glulam frame, and roof cupolas that maximise natural light and ventilation. The result is a bright, welcoming space with modern, accessible amenities for all users.
