Today marks the start of Global Asbestos Awareness Week (1st–7th April 2026).
Although asbestos was banned in 1999, it remains present in thousands of buildings across the UK, including schools, offices, and homes. Often hidden from plain sight, it can still be found in materials such as cement products, pipe insulation, and roof panels - posing a serious risk when disturbed.
At MCS, we understand the critical importance of managing and removing asbestos safely and responsibly. Our experienced teams are trained to identify potential risks, implement strict control measures, and ensure asbestos is removed and disposed of in full compliance with regulations. We are committed to protecting our workforce, safeguarding our clients, and supporting the wider community.
Global Asbestos Awareness Week is an important reminder that the dangers of asbestos have not disappeared. Ongoing vigilance, proper training, and professional handling remain essential in preventing exposure.
