Award-Winning Roof Design for River Park Cricket Pavilion

Huge congratulations to Triad Timber Components Ltd on their award-winning truss roof design at River Park Cricket Pavilion in Winchester, which was named Commercial Project of the Year at the Trussed Rafter Association Annual Awards 2026 last week.

Located in the heart of Winchester, River Park Cricket Pavilion was designed and constructed by MCS on behalf of Winchester City Council, in partnership with Triad Timber Components Ltd, Stride Treglown, Ridge, and Rekan Ltd. The pavilion will officially open on 14 May 2026, after which, this new sports hub will be available for the local community to enjoy.

This outstanding project showcases exceptional quality, sustainability, and innovative engineering, including the use of girder trusses designed to accommodate the additional loads imposed by the wide overhanging eaves, which also support retractable canopies. The striking truss rafter and glulam feature roof creates a distinctive arrowhead-shaped form, demonstrating both technical precision and architectural excellence.
