Works are well underway at Epsom Fire Station, with steady progress being made across multiple areas of the building.
Â
In the dormitories, plaster boarding is now complete, and electrical wiring has been installed, allowing the final coat of paint to be applied. The new carpet tiles have been laid, and the electricians are coming in to install air conditioning units throughout.
Â
In the bathrooms, the ladies’ toilets now have vinyl flooring in place and the team have been busy fitting hygienic wall cladding, cutting each panel to precision before installing. In the gents, vinyl flooring has also been laid, and wall repairs have been completed.
Â
The electricians have replaced the distribution board and are now working on installing a new lighting system above the mess hall. Downstairs in the cardio gym, all the heating pipes have been removed, the vinyl flooring has been placed, and painting preparation is done.Â
Â
Looking forward, the next steps will be for the carpenters to come in and fit new doors to the dormitories and the plumbers will carry out their first fix. Once the dormitories are finished off and ready, they will be handed back over to the fire station, and MCS will start work on refurbishing the kitchen area.
Â
All these works are being carefully planned to ensure limited disruption to the working fire station. By phasing works, we are able to work on sections of the building, before handing over the completed works to the brave firefighters and then taking on a new area to complete.
