Works have officially commenced at Grovelands Primary School in Walton-on-Thames, on behalf of Surrey County Council.
Â
The MCS team have been carefully identifying and removing areas of damage and decay from classroom windowsills and frames, including one SEN classroom. This will prepare the areas for vital restoration works to begin.
Â
Where possible, the team have been vigilant to preserve as much of the original structures, keeping all undamaged sections of the sills and frames in place. The goal is to ensure that all the repairs blend seamlessly with the original features once complete.
Â
In addition to the windowsill and frame works, the project will also include the repair of a damaged canopy above an external door, as well as the restoration of a decaying door frame leading to another classroom, both of which will be brought back to their former glory.
Â
Once all the repair works have been completed, the team will redecorate the affected areas to ensure that the building looks its best for years to come.
Â
The works are being carefully coordinated with the school to ensure minimal disruption so that lessons can continue smoothly throughout the day.
