Thames Mariners Kitchen Refurbishment Nearing Completion

The kitchen refurbishment at Thames Mariners, undertaken on behalf of Surrey County Council, is nearing completion.

Key milestones have already been achieved, including the completion of the second-fix electrics, installation of Whiterock wall cladding in both the kitchen and washroom, expansion and weatherproofing of the roof extraction opening, and essential drainage modifications in the washroom.

During the renovation process, unforeseen work became necessary due to the aging infrastructure. This included reconfiguring pipeline installations across the site, upgrading manholes to improve the plumbing system, and implementing a gas system upgrade based on survey assessments.

Current ongoing work includes the installation of floor vinyl, ventilation systems, and a steel plate for the extraction hood, along with the mechanical second fix.

Following the completion of these tasks, the final phase will focus on decorative finishes, carpentry work - including door installations and roof repairs above the washroom - plumbing second-fix, and the installation of kitchen equipment, including the roller shutter.

We look forward to unveiling the revitalised Thames Young Mariners facility soon.
