Progress at Epsom Fire Station continues at pace, and the renovation is taking shape brilliantly.
This week marks an important milestone, as the firefighters temporarily move out of the station for two weeks to enable essential electrical upgrades. All electrical boards in the station will be replaced, and the MCS team will begin working on the kit room and command centre. These areas will benefit from fresh redecoration and installation of new ceilings. Additionally, carpet is set to be laid across the first floor and in selected areas of the ground floor.
Currently, the team have been working on the first-floor decorations, having completed the corridors, mess room, the ground floor gym, as well as being in the final stages in the dormitories. With the new dormitory doors due to arrive soon, the bedrooms are almost ready to be handed over to the firefighters.
Looking ahead into January, the team will turn their attention to renovating the kitchen and dining room, which will benefit from new worktops and fresh decorations, breathing life back into the facilities.
