MCS Awarded Smithers Laboratory Contract

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a new contract by Smithers Laboratory to deliver a significant expansion of their existing facility in Leatherhead.

The project will include the construction of a new laboratory extension adjacent to the current building, enhancing the site’s capacity and supporting its continued growth.

The new extension will add 253m² of high-quality laboratory space, further strengthening Smithers Laboratory’s ability to innovate and expand its operations.

Attached to the extension will be a 5m-wide, canopied airtight holding bay structure, designed to enable safe and controlled vehicular and material access.

Externally, the project will also include associated hard and soft landscaping works, along with upgraded drainage infrastructure to complement the development.

MCS is proud to be collaborating with Lewis & Hickey Architects and Day & Johnson on this exciting project. Construction is scheduled to commence in early November 2025, and we look forward to delivering a facility that embodies innovation, functionality, and design excellence.
