Inspiring the Future Leaders of Construction
Last week, Alex Crane, Marketing Executive at MCS, attended Camelsdale School's Careers Day to inspire pupils and showcase the wide range of career opportunities available to them in the future.
During the event, Alex spoke about the diverse and rewarding careers available within the construction industry, helping to challenge common misconceptions about the built environment and encourage more young people to view construction as a dynamic, progressive, and essential sector. The children also had the opportunity to try on various PPE used on construction sites, and design buildings that they would like to build in the future.
Despite playing a vital role in shaping our communities, the construction industry is often affected by outdated stereotypes, such as being a male-dominated field or one focused solely on manual labour. At MCS, we are committed to breaking down these barriers and demonstrating that construction offers opportunities for people from all backgrounds, with careers spanning project management, design, surveying, engineering, marketing, sustainability, and more.
By supporting local school and college careers days, MCS is actively engaging with the next generation, broadening awareness of the industry's opportunities, and helping to inspire the future leaders of construction.
