Works are commencing at great pace at Hurstpierpoint College with the site set up completed, tower crane base installed and piling fully complete.
Piles have been tested between gridlines 1-4, with the remainder to follow. The ground beams to the North elevation have been excavated, blinded and reinforced steel work commenced, ready for concrete this week.
During February the team will continue with the reduced level dig, further ground beam installations and drainage works ahead of the temporary shutdown of the site to ensure zero disruption for pupils during their week-long mock exams.
Working in collaboration with Miller Bourne, Wenham O’Brien, HOP and RED Engineering, MCS has been appointed to design and construct a Swimming Pool building that provides a 25-metre 6 lane swimming pool, conforming to ASA competition standards.
The building, with many sustainability features, will also provide: changing rooms with toilets and showers; disabled changing rooms, store room and reception area.
