Works at Park Mead Primary School are progressing smoothly as the MCS team advances into the next stages of delivery.
In the main building, roof strengthening works have been completed. Internally, the main corridor ceiling grids are in place and ready for ceiling tiles to be fitted. In the breakfast & afterschool club area, the kitchen has been upgraded with new worktops, and the ceiling grid has been installed. Next, the team will address minor repairs to the wall and redecorate the space, restoring it to its original standard and ensuring it is fully functional for daily use.
Within the sports hall, a new ceiling tray has been installed to support electrical wiring, which will be enclosed with MDF boxing to prevent sports equipment from being caught on the tray. The hall will also benefit from a new plasterboard ceiling, enhancing both safety and appearance.
Roof strengthening works across the site continue at pace. One section is already complete, with another nearing the final stages of insulation and felting. The next major phase will focus on the sports hall roof, where the team will strip back the existing surface, add an additional layer of plywood, and install new insulation and felt to ensure long-lasting durability.
Externally, fascia works are progressing well, with most classroom blocks now complete. The Early Years building will be the next to receive new fascia, featuring Rockpanel cladding to complement the school’s updated façades.
