On Friday 21st June 2024, we were delighted to celebrate a significant milestone at Hilltop First School’s new building development - the ‘Topping Out’ - with teachers and pupils.
The school’s Headteacher, Lynn Bima, joined by Chair of Governors, Darren James, and the school’s Head Girl and Head Boy, Scarlett & Reilly, were invited onto the construction site to lay the final bricks; and physically add their school’s ‘Golden Rules’ into the building.
These very special golden rules: ‘Aim High, Be Kind’ were integrated into the building by Scarlett and Reilly placing a star and a heart silver charm into the mortar, before the next layer of brick was placed on top.
This occasion was enjoyed by the whole school who marked the occasion by learning a new song called ‘We’re building!’, celebrating personal growth and the physical growth of their fabulous new
School extension.
Once the new build works near completion, during mid-July, MCS will begin the careful refurbishment of the existing teaching space and fit a new external canopy to the old building. In addition new decking will be provided together with car park modifications.
MCS is delivering these new facilities in collaboration with: The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, Clarkson Alliance, Edgingtons Architects and JDP Building Services.
