Working in close collaboration with Barker Associates and Cobalt Project Management, MCS is proud to have been selected to refurbish, remodel and extend Perseid Lower School in Morden. This important development will significantly enhance the school’s provision for pupils with special educational needs (SEN).

The project involved the construction of a new single-storey extension designed to accommodate four additional classrooms, together with a music room and store, shared learning spaces, a studio hall, a dedicated out-of-hours area and a range of supporting facilities. Each element has been carefully planned to create an environment that is both functional and nurturing for its pupils.

Externally, substantial improvements have also been delivered. These include the creation of a new cycle and car parking area, upgraded footpaths, enhanced external lighting and a fully accessible playground. The play environment features a climbing wall, wheelchair-friendly swing and roundabout, an in-ground trampoline and a climbing frame, offering inclusive and engaging activities for all children. To create further outdoor space, an existing modular music classroom was removed.

These works have provided increased capacity for the school’s SEN provision, with the Early Years department relocated to the newly completed extension. This investment ensures Perseid Lower School can continue to offer exceptional support to its pupils for many years to come.
