Farnham Mill Nursing Home

MCS was appointed by Farnham Mill Nursing Home to complete the construction of a new three-storey nursing home development following the previous main contractor entering administration. With the programme at a critical point, MCS was entrusted to take control of the project and successfully deliver the completion of the scheme.

Recognising the client’s concerns around continuity and programme delivery, MCS mobilised quickly and worked closely with the client, consultant team and supply chain to stabilise the project. A collaborative and proactive approach allowed many of the original specialist contractors already familiar with the scheme to continue their work, ensuring a smooth transition and minimising disruption to the project’s progress.

The completed nursing home provides 60 spacious bedroom suites, each designed to create a bright, comfortable and welcoming environment for residents. Floor-to-ceiling windows maximise natural light, while all bedrooms include en-suite bathrooms, most with walk-in showers. Several larger rooms have been designed to accommodate couples, offering flexibility for residents who wish to remain together.

Each suite is fully equipped with modern care and communication systems, including a 24-hour nurse call system, smoke detection, television, telephone and internet connections, ensuring residents benefit from both safety and connectivity.

The ground floor rooms provide direct access to the surrounding gardens through private patio doors. The landscaped grounds include a picturesque mill pond, wildlife meadow and carefully designed garden spaces, along with a peaceful courtyard garden featuring raised planters. All outdoor areas are connected by level pathways to ensure safe and easy accessibility for residents.
