Heritage Building
12-15 High Street, Winchester
Appointed by Surrey County Council, MCS was contracted to refurbish a three-storey, 50,408 sq. ft. department store formerly occupied by Debenhams on Winchester’s busy High Street.

The project commenced with a comprehensive strip-out, removing all internal fixtures and fittings, roof-mounted equipment, and remaining M&E plant to return the building to a clean, empty shell.

MCS then carried out extensive repairs and refurbishment to the existing structure and fenestration, as well as multiple flat and pitched roofs. This included installing new waterproofing systems and insulation to improve the building’s durability and overall performance.

External works comprised repointing, render repairs, timber restoration, and the redecoration of cast-iron downpipes.

Following the successful completion of these initial phases, MCS was further appointed to convert the ground floor into three compliant shell units for incoming food and beverage tenants. This stage of works also includes shopfront refurbishments, new entrance doors, and roof alterations to accommodate tenant risers and plant compounds.
