Project Description
Awarded D&B basis, MCS undertook the construction of a new Performing Arts Centre located within the main school campus, providing an array of high-quality specialist finishes and stage services.
The theatre features a state of the art technical fit-out with a large reception area, green rooms, drama classrooms and changing facilities along with the 179 seat auditorium.
The theatre also features demountable central bench seating to allow seating to be re-positioned around the sides of the auditorium, allowing for the extension of the stage.
The theatre was officially opened by HRH Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex and is also open to the public, offering events such as plays, dance, music, film, lectures and conferences.
MCS worked very closely with the school throughout the construction stages to maintain a safe site and good working relationships.
MCS worked alongside the school, VHH Architects (Architects), Charcoalblue LLP (Theatre Designer), Elliott Wood Partnership (Structural Engineers) and Synergy LLP (Quantity Surveyor) along with various subcontractors to complete the project.
