MCS is delighted that there has been rapid progress over the last few weeks at Woking College’s new teaching block, culminating in the final lifting of the structural steels this week.
Over the past few days the project saw the delivery of 45 tonnes (326 lengths) of structural steel delivered by lorries which were safely banked through the live school. The steels were then received by a crane which carefully and smoothly lifted the steels into position in a logical sequence and the pieces were then connected, lined and levelled.
Working in collaboration with Synergy Construction & Property Consultants LLP, Macallan Penfold Ltd and Price & Myers; MCS has been appointed to construct a new part two storey, part single storey teaching block together with a new car park.
This new building of 925m² will provide 8-classrooms, a supervised study area, along with staff work areas, offices and ancillary spaces. These new facilities would allow for the flexibility that the College requires to meet student needs in and outside of lessons.
