Rowing For New Schools

Updated: Aug 14, 2020

MCS is very proud to have recently supported Jordan Wylie, a former soldier, bestselling author and adventurer (Channel 4's Hunted) on his expedition, Rowing Dangerously.

This dangerous adventure involved Jordan becoming the first person in history to row, solo and unsupported across the most dangerous strait of water on the planet, Bab el Mandeb Straits, between the Horn of Africa and Yemen.

MCS sponsored Jordan on his adventure, which he successfully completed in October 2019. Paul Hodges (Managing Director), Justin Whiteman (Construction Director) and Nick Andrews (Construction Manager) were lucky enough to meet Jordan and present him with a cheque at Royal Russell School where we are delivering various projects.

Funds raised for Rowing Dangerously go towards Frontline Children, a charity which helps children access education in some of the most remote and challenging areas of the planet, often in conflict and war zones. These funds will help Frontline Children build a new school in Dijbouti, which will provide education to many children who have been forced to take refuge as result of war and conflict in their home countries of Yemen and Somalia.
