Old Woking Community Centre Receives Additional Funding

We are delighted that Old Woking Community Centre (OWCC) has received the additional funding of £982,389.00 which will enable their aspirational ‘green credentials’ to become a reality. We were delighted to celebrate this substantial award to them on site, with the whole team.

This new funding will enable OWCC to become more sustainable and therefore cheaper for the local community to operate. New features will include: an air source heat pump, PV panels, substantial wall and roof insulation, low energy lighting, low water use toilets as well as upgraded electric wiring throughout.

MCS commenced original works on the community centre in November 2022, which was to carry out the extension and reconfiguration of the building, including the installation of two new lifts. We are delighted to see that now, more than ever, our clients are seeking to create sustainable buildings that minimise energy and water consumption to combat climate change.

Once complete the new facilities will be utilised by the whole community in support of cultural, educational and social activities and also by their neighbour and fellow OWCC investor Woking College.

MCS is delighted to be delivering these works in collaboration with Synergy Construction & Property Consultants, Macallan Penfold Chartered Architects, Price & Myers and J&B Hopkins Ltd.
