Excellent Performance at Guildford Lido

MCS is delighted to have been awarded an “Excellent” rating for its work at Guildford Lido in Guildford, Surrey.

The award under the Considerate Constructors Scheme follows a detailed inspection of all aspects of our work at the site. It covers our care about the appearance of the site, our respect for the local community, the environmental protection measures we have put in place and the value we show to our workforce.

Our team scored 41 out of 45 to secure the award.

On behalf of Guildford Borough Council, MCS was appointed to carry out extensive refurbishment and construction works at Guildford Lido in collaboration with Lytle Associates Architects, Bernard Sims Associates, Press and Starkey, Melliss LLP and FHP Engineering Services Solutions.

Following the careful removal of the existing outdoor changing facilities, the existing concrete slab and subbase has been successfully broken out to enable the critical alterations of the below ground drainage system. Following this the new subbase and concrete slab was laid to enable the construction of the new outdoor changing facilities including a glulam frame and roof. Additional works include the installation of new changing cubicles, WCs and showers.

Justin Whiteman, Managing Director, MCS, said: “Many congratulations to Mike, Will, Gary and their team. They are doing a great job and thoroughly deserve the award.”
