#Throwbackthursday - 1987 – Grayshott Health Spa, Surrey
Working in collaboration with the award winning @richmondhospitalitydesign, MCS was appointed to restore the Century Wing and Gym area of Grayshott Hall. This initial project led on to further refurbishment works over the years at the luxury country house spa.
Once home of the late poet Tennyson, Grayshott Hall was a private residence for hundreds of years until its purchase in 1960 with the purpose of converting it into a Health Club, which opened in 1965. Further development and refurbishment of the building took place over the subsequent years, for it to become Grayshott Spa as it is known today.
Unfortunately, owing to Covid-19, the permanent closure of Grayshott Spa was announced in November 2020.
