PAUL HODGES - Managing Director
Paul joined the industry as a trade apprentice and progressed following a decade of part time further education and working with various companies from small works to a major national construction company before joining MCS in 1988 as Company Estimator. Made a Director in 1992, as Commercial Director he led the management buyout in 2000. Paul has general responsibility for all pre-construction activities along with business management with the other Directors. Paul is a shareholder in MCS group of companies.
ADRIAN RUMBLE - Commercial Director
Adrian has a broad experience of working on behalf of both contracting organisations and clients, originally training as a Professional Quantity Surveyor and then joining MCS as a Contract Surveyor. Adrian completed the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors qualifications in 1992, gaining Chartered status. Adrian was made Surveying Director of MCS in 2001, having responsibility for the Surveying Department, overseeing all surveying and contractual matters. In 2019 Adrian was appointed to a new role as Commercial Director of MCS and continues to work alongside the new MCS team of Directors. Adrian is a shareholder in MCS group of companies.
JUSTIN WHITEMAN - Construction Director
A highly motivated and experienced Construction Director who has completed a large number of new build and refurbishment projects with strong administrative, organisational and inter-personal skills and is able to communicate effectively at all levels. Justin was approached by the Directors to join MCS in 2018 as a Senior Construction Manager with the intention to join the Directors as Construction Director in late 2018 and has also taken on the role of Health & Safety Officer. Justin has a trade background as a bricklayer and site experience as a site foreman, site manager, contract manager and more recently as lead project manager on a £12-20million project.
PETER GREENAWAY - Surveying Director
Having grown up surrounded by the Construction Industry through his Fathers trade and construction business background, Peter inevitably chose Construction as a Career path and Joined the industry in 1999 as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor after being offered a traineeship with a medium sized regional contractor. Having received an excellent grounding and following almost 7 years of service, in 2006 Peter joined MCS as a Contracts Surveyor to bolster the Surveying department. Promotion to Senior Surveyor followed in 2013. As Part of Companywide restructuring in January 2019 Peter was invited to join the board as Surveying Director and is responsible for overseeing Surveying matters as well as various other company wide aspects.
GRAHAM HARVEY-BROWNE - Non-Executive Director
Graham joined MCS as a non-executive Director on the 1st August 2019. Graham is a Chartered Surveyor and business leader with over 40 years’ experience in managing growth and change across several organisations. He studied at Reading University for a degree in Quantity Surveying and from the age of 22 spent 34 years at Parker & Browne / Synergy where he progressed from a graduate surveyor to partner. During his time there the Practice grew to be a top 50 Consultancy by organic growth and through mergers and acquisitions. Clients included Tesco, Kew Gardens, NatWest Bank, London 2012, United Learning, National Trust, Royal Surrey County Hospital, University of Surrey, Guildford Hotel, several Diocese and over 70 Independent Schools. In 2012 having completed 10 years as Senior Partner / Executive Chairman, Graham left to become Director of Estates at United Learning, the sixth largest charity in England and one of his biggest clients. In his five years at United Learning Graham sat on the Executive Board and was part of the team that saw the organisation grow from 27 to 58 schools in his time there.
In 2017 Graham retired from full-time work and now has a portfolio of interests which include sitting on the United Learning Estates Committee, Chair of Governors at St Ives School Haslemere and being a Performance Coach and Business Consultant. Graham’s main role at MCS is to work with the executive directors on the strategic direction of MCS over the next three to five years. He will also have a role in business development and will provide coaching and mentoring to staff.
